Abdominal Quadrants: Short Overview

As a matter of fact, there will be a few things that need to keep in mind when it comes to discuss more about quadrants (abdomen). It has been published since hundreds of years ago that the human abdomen is divided into quadrants in order to localize scars, pain, lumps, tenderness, and any other items of interest. For more information, the abdominal quadrants consist of four different quadrants: right upper quadrant, left upper quadrant, right lower quadrant, and left lower quadrant.

Abdominal Quadrants and the Organs inside

Actually, each of those abdominal regions has its own function which is depend on the important organs around it. First, left lower quadrant has left ovary, sigmoid colon, descending colon, and fallopian tube as its important organs. Meanwhile, some essential organs in the left upper quadrant are including stomach, body of pancreas, left kidney, splenic flexure of colon, spleen, and left lobe of liver. Right upper quadrant has liver, duodenum, head of pancreas, and gall bladder as some substantial organs. At last, right lower quadrant has appendix, ascending colon, right ovary, and right ureter as its organs.

This typical abdominal region is considered to be a part of anatomical region which often involves splitting the regions into four quadrants and nine areas throughout the human body. In fact, knowing exactly about the abdominal regions and quadrants in the human body means that you will be able to understand more about human anatomy and it will lead you to enable to provide such preliminary diagnosis of certain pains from the region. For the example, if someone has diagnosed to need the gall bladder surgery, then he or she might feel pain or any discomfort feelings around their right upper quadrant. So, the person can take a rapid action to solve it.
