Human Stomach: Common Problems

Inside the body anatomy systems, there will be numerous important internal organs to be known. Each of these organs has their own functions and usually they are working together as a team where one problem in certain organ means there might affect another organ instantly. Now let’s more focus on one essential organ inside the human digestion system: the human stomach. Actually, the stomach is located in the upper left area of the abdomen next to the spleen and below the liver. When the stomach is empty, there will small folds on the inside which called as rugae.

Human Stomach Problems

These rugae will allow the stomach to accommodate large meals to fill up the empty stomach. The main function of the stomach is to store and breakdown the foods and any liquids that we have consumed just before these contents rich in nutrition travel to other organs to be digested. Moreover, the stomach has the tool for digestion process and it is later called as gastric juices. Of course, all foods and fluids which are digested in the stomach have not all been used, some of them need to be thrown away from the body. And from the stomach, the human kidney will help to remove the waste and controlling the body’s fluid balance.

Just because all the chemicals in the human stomach will work due to the subtle balance in the body, there will be some problems that may occur in the stomach. These problems are including heartburn, nausea, indigestion, vomiting, peptic ulcers, diarrhea, and Crohn’s disease. For instance, these peptic ulcers mostly caused by the stomach which tends to digest itself as there is no protection called mucus-like secretions. Of course, experiencing pain in the stomach will be very annoying, so that it is important to always get meals on time and avoid any dirty foods and foods which can trigger more stomach diseases like sour foods and fatty foods.
